Auldyn Construction Ltd has been awarded the contract to build a major public housing scheme in Ramsey - a 37-unit sheltered housing complex on Mayfield, Queen’s Pier Road for the Ramsey and Northern District Housing Committee.

The first sod will be cut on Monday, October 1, and completion is due by the end of February 2020.

On completion, tenants from the neighbouring Close Woirrey complex will be transferred to Mayfield

This will allow redevelopment of the Close Woirrey site.

Close Woirrey comprises 17 flats and was constructed in 1965.

It will be demolished to make way for 12 one-bedroom flats over two floors, primarily for tenants aged 45 and over.
