Don’t forget to get your entry in for this year’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence. Entries close next Friday (January 15).

There are categories for businesses, charities and cultural organisations of all sizes - you don’t have to be a big corporate company to win.

You only have to look at the wide range of businesses which have won in the last two years.

Along with the finance and tech companies you will see Isle of Man Creamery, Drewry’s executive barbers, Cycle 360, Fynoderee Distillery, Clare Christian Couture, Island Travel and Ramsey Grammar School have all scooped awards.

When it comes to the charity, cultural and environmental sectors the Isle of Man Arts Council, Beach Buddies, Western Civic Amenity Site, Motiv8 Addiction Services and the Isle of Man Civil Defence Corps have all been successful.

There is an award category for everyone and this year, reflecting the extraordinary circumstances we have all been living through, the emphasis is on rewarding individuals, businesses of all sizes, charitable and cultural organisations and public sector teams who have supported our island in difficult times.

Many businesses will identify with the Award for Doing the Impossible During the Pandemic because many of them did just that. As did many charities and frontline workers.

Other awards include Our Local Heroes, Business Supporting our Community, Caring for the Island’s Wellbeing and, reflecting the fact that when food supplies were disrupted during lockdown many people discovered the joys of eating local, there is an award celebrating our local food producers.

And, because these things are still important even in a year dominated by Covid-19, there are awards for Protecting Our Environment and Nurturing our Arts, Culture and Heritage.

If you, your business, charity, cultural organisation or public sector team did something outstanding in any of these ways in 2020, now is the time to enter the Awards for Excellence and tell everyone about it.

If you are chosen as one of the three runners-up in your category, you will be showcased in the Awards programme and have the chance to attend the glittering awards night, which will be held on March 19.

You can enter more than one award category.

And, if you need advice about which category, or categories, to enter and what makes a good entry you can email Trudi Williamson at [email protected] and she will be happy to advise you.

You will find full information and download entry forms at www.excellence-awards.co.im
