Three top local tribute bands will make sure that the August bank holiday will still go with a bang, despite the lack of bike racing action.

The bombastic DC/AC, featuring singer Ade Bruce and guitarist Paul Daugherty paying homage to the rock giant AC/DC, will perform on the Royal Hall stage at the Villa Marina on Thursday, August 27, with support from 9 Bar Gypsies.

They will be followed by the Radiohead covers group OK Computer, featuring Chris Honour, Ian Astill and Dave Brew, who will host a free show in the Promenade Suite on Friday, August 28.

The weekend will come to a head with a show from the island’s Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs on the Wing, led by Pete Williamson and James Craig on Saturday, August 29.

Tickets for DC/AC are £15 and the Pigs on the Wing show is £17.50, available from villagaiety.com

Healthcare workers are being offered the chance to claim free tickets for the Pigs concert.

A limited amount of tickets are available to workers who, according to Lenny Conroy from gig promoters Triskel Promotions, ’have gone above and beyond to ensure the island is enjoyed as freely as possible now.’
