The 1886 Bar, grill and cocktail lounge in Regent Street, Douglas is staying closed ’for a few days’ in order for staff to be tested.
The venue released this statement on social media last night.
’Following on from the recent media release of the positive Covid-19 case that was found to have been in 1886 between 11pm-2am on 26th December.
’As this was news to us too we have today spoken to the relevant people and have been informed that the risk level of the infection spreading was minimal.
’As a precaution we will be closing tonight and staying closed for a few days.
’This will allow our staff the opportunity to get tested.
’We are sorry for inconvenience that this may cause for anyone that had booked in with us.
’Ultimately the health of our staff and customers is our main priority.
’We would like to thank you all for a busy festive period and hope you all have a brilliant 2021!’
