FIM Capital Beach buddies will be carrying out a massive clean-up operation today (Sunday) following the storms this week.
Volunteers will be concentrating on the east coast of the island with two events starting at 10.30am this morning.
The meeting point for those wanting to take part is at the slipway at the bottom of Broadway in Douglas. The group will be split into two with one of the teams going focusing on Port Grenaugh and the other on Douglas Promenade.
Bill Dale of Beach Buddies has said it will be a busy weekend for the charity.
‘Wellies might be a good idea this time, as large amounts of seaweed have been blown up onto the beaches,’ he said.
Beach Buddies provides all equipment and removes all items afterwards, recycling as much as possible, with the rest going to make electricity.
