The founder and co-owner of popular Laxey beach eatery is this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

Bev Clegg of The Shed and Creative Juices collected the Manx Telecom Award for Entrepreneur of the Year at the Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards For Excellence, held at the Villa Marina in Douglas tonight (Thursday).

The judges said: ‘Bev has built a popular business and now employs 12 people. The Shed has 100% 5* reviews on Facebook.’

Bev runs The Shed which is an artisan beachside eatery on Laxey promenade along with her husband, Richard.

The eatery opened in May 2017 as a juice bar with a difference.

Selling locally produced and sourced food it is open all year round, regardless of the weather: if it’s cold customers can still sit of beach bags on the beach, wrapped in cosy blankets with a hot water bottle.

Creative Juices is the island’s first and only cold-pressed juice company. Launched in September 2015, it supplies 100% raw, natural homemade vegetable and fruit juices to individual and corporate clients, delivered to the door.

This year’s award is sponsored by Manx Telecom.
