The Manx Blind Welfare Society has launched its island-inspired calendar for 2021.
It features 12 nostalgic black and white photographs which were donated by local war veteran and MBWS member James Fenton FRPS (Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society), who used to run Fenton’s Photography Museum in Port Erin.
The calendar shows a range of shots in locations around the island, from Cregneash village in 1943 to Peel Castle in 1924.
MBWS volunteers’ coordinator and events organiser Debbie Thomson said: ’We are delighted to launch our 2021 calendar.
’Dating from 1870 to 1943, the striking images featured in the calendar offer an unusual look at Manx Life and we are so grateful to our treasured friend James Fenton for offering them from his private collection.
’We are also thankful to the 12 local organisations that have sponsored the calendar this year so all proceeds can go directly to the charity, helping us to continue to provide much-needed services and support for blind and visually impaired people in the Isle of Man.’
The calendar is priced at £5 and is available to buy from the charity’s VIP Store in Strand Street, Douglas, and at its headquarters, Corrin Court in Onchan.
Alternatively, call 674727.
The charity would also like outlets interested in stocking the calendar to get in contact.
