A bouncer was arrested last night on suspicion of assault after an incident in Douglas.
Police were called to the 1886 bar (the former post office) on Regent Street shortly after midnight.
The alleged incident happened after a man tried to re-enter the premises.
That man suffered a head injury and spent the night in hospital.
Police have been able to talk to him and say it is thought he will make a full recovery.
A police spokesman said: ’The security staff member was arrested on suspicion of assault and inquiries are ongoing into investigating exactly what happened.
’He has been interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries, one of which is to allow time for witnesses to come forward and provide formal accounts to police.’
Police are asking people who saw what happened to contact them.
