The Met Office forecast for Wednesday: ‘The rain will start to clear around dawn this morning, leaving the rest of the day mostly dry with bright and sunny spells breaking through the cloud.

‘A breezy day with a fresh locally strong west to south-westerly wind and highs of 17°C.

‘Dry this evening and tonight with some clear spells at first, before turning cloudy late in the night.

‘The westerly wind will gradually turn to the south or southwest with lowest temperature near to 11°C.’
