The MyProm team has announced that Broadway will open on November 26, sort of.

Originally due to be open to traffic on September 25, Broadway closed on May 25 and delays to its reopening have become something of a symbol for the scheme as a whole in recent days.

A statement said: ’Manx Gas has confirmed that the decommissioning of the Douglas Promenade gas main will commence week beginning October 26.

’Once the complex process of decommissioning the old gas main is finished, works on the completion of the roundabout and pedestrian crossings on each approach to Broadway junction will then commence.

’Broadway will partially reopen by 6pm on November 26 with exit off the promenade for traffic travelling northbound only.’
