The island’s first budget hotel is nearing completion.

Construction of the Premier Inn began in February last year.

This view shows that despite the restricted nature of its site on Market Street, Douglas, some guests on the top floors will get a view over the roof of M&S and the Drumgold Street multi-storey.

Contractors Dandara are due to complete work by the end of April ready for the hotel to open perhaps in time for the TT.

The hotel on Market Street in Douglas boasts 85 bedrooms over five floors and a ground floor restaurant and bar.

In a first for the island, the bathrooms for 83 of the hotel’s bedrooms came ready-made.

They were lifted into place as pods as construction work proceeded.
