A member of the team at Boots, the high street chemist, has been hailed as this year’s Douglas Customer Service Champion.

David Castro emerged victorious out of eight finalists shortlisted in the competition organised by Douglas Town Centre Management.

The idea of the competition was to find those people who consistently provide outstanding customer service, with final voting done via the DTCM’s page on the social medial site Facebook.

Douglas town centre manager Oliver Cheshire said: ’Judging from the response to our Facebook post, which reached more than 60,000 people, there’s clearly an appetite to recognise those men and women who go above and beyond in their work each and every day.

Mr Castro wins the Douglas Customer Service Champion 2017 trophy and two tickets to the Young Farmers’ concert in March.

A reception for the finalists was held at Douglas town hall hosted by the mayor and mayoress of Douglas, John and Gill Skinner. Councillor Skinner said the campaign had been ’an excellent opportunity to celebrate the amazing talent’ among Douglas town businesses. Every one of the finalists is to be congratulated, he added.
