Businesses that want tips on cyber security are being invited to a conference.
Douglas-based business Intelect, which specialises in business security services including cyber security, is hosting the event..
Experts from the island and the UK will take part.
Colin Tansley, managing director of Intelect, said: ’We’ve got some great speakers lined up, but this is a conference with a difference.
’Teams of delegates will be dealing with cyber attack simulation exercises in the afternoon assisted by cyber security degree students from University College Isle of Man.’
According to research by IBM, the average time to identify a breach is 163 days and actual containment takes 64 days.
The longer it takes to identify and contain a breach, the greater the damage and more expensive it will be to repair.
Gail Corrin, higher education development manager at University College Isle of Man, said: ’This conference is a wonderful opportunity for our students to both contribute to and learn from industry experts.
’This conference is an excellent example of this collaborative approach and we are delighted to partner Intelect in its delivery.’
The conference takes place on March 22.
