The Association of Corporate Service Providers’ seminar on Wednesday, February 13, will be with Jean Dick and Paul de Weerd of the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority on the topic of securing clients’ property.

The seminar will examine the FSA’s supervisory visits to trust or corporate service providers, which looked at non-monetary customer assets such as property, yachts, aircraft and chattels.

It will cover the background to the visits and main findings, both in terms of good practice and areas where firms might be vulnerable

The current visit approach will also be outlined.

Mrs Dick is the senior manager of the FSA’s fiduciary services team and before joining the authority was a trust or corporate service providers practitioner.

Mr de Weerd was Mrs Dick’s predecessor in the fiduciary services team.

He now works at the authority on supervisory operational and policy matters.

The seminar will be at the Upper Hall, Loch Promenade Church, Douglas, with registration from noon for a 12.30pm start and is expected to last about an hour.

It is sponsored by law firm DQ.
