The former chairman of island business success story, Strix, Eddie Davies CBE, has died while on holiday on holiday in Portugal with his wife Sue.
The former Bolton Wanderers owner and honorary president was 72.
Bolton Wanderers announced the news in a tweet saying: ’It is with great sadness that Bolton Wanderers Football Club has learned of the passing of former owner Eddie Davies CBE.
’The thoughts of all at the club are with his wife Sue, his family and friends at this sad time.
’Rest in peace, Eddie.’
Strix is based in the south of the island and is now the world’s leading manufacturer of kettle safety controls.
A statement released by the family’s solicitor read: 'It is with great sadness that Sue Davies and family announce the death of Eddie Davies CBE today, 11th September. Eddie passed away during the night whilst on holiday in Portugal.
