A former Examiner and Manx Independent journalist has entered the Isle of Man’s business world with a new venture supplying home delivery of pet products for a UK company.
Nick Smith, reporter for a number of Manx newspapers between the 80s and 90s, has been awarded the contract for Oscar Pet Foods and has already started delivering dog and cat pet food products across the island.
He said: ’It’s a bit different to anything I’ve done before.
’But it’s been a real pleasure to get involved with such a big name UK company and to be chosen as the Isle of Man agent. The initial response has been very positive and I’ve already met lots of pet owners all over the island.
’During the Covid 19 pandemic many more people have been using home deliveries and I’ve found that there is clearly a market for the delivery of pet products to a customer’s doorstep.’
Products from Oscar Pet Foods include pet accessories, hygiene and health products, and has seen a big uptake in starter packs which include a small bag of complete dog or cat food, tasty treats supplied in an airtight storage bucket.
