The Manx Fun Farm, for years the home to Laser blast, has continued to expand its offering with its latest addition, a bowling alley.
Based just off the Whitebridge Road between Onchan and the Liverpool Arms, the former dairy farm is run by husband and wife Andrew and Jacqui Clague and their four sons.
Andy said that the family had wanted to install a bowling alley before, but had been unable to gain planning approval, a problem they didn’t have this time as planner gave their backing to the project.
He added: ’We’ve got the Fun Barn for little kids, we’ve got Laser blast for the older kids and teenagers but we think the bowling alley can be for everyone.’
Jacqui said: ’If you think of an activity the whole family can enjoy, bowling is one of the few universal games that come to mind.’
The new bowling alley is the first time there has been a permanent one in the east of the island since the Castle Mona shut in 2007 with Ramsey’s bowling alley being the only facility in recent years.
Andy said: ’The opportunity was there and the market was there to take a chance and we’ve got a fantastic location here.
’We wanted to open something the whole family could do and open it up to as many different people as possible.’
