Onchan entrepreneur and racing enthusiast Vincent Caldwell is backing Irish jockeys Jack and Paddy Kennedy.

The two brothers will display the Virtual Live Racing logo on their racing silks in the months ahead as part of sponsorship aimed at raising brand awareness of the virtual product.

The jockeys are making a name for themselves in jump racing in Ireland. Virtual Live Racing has been created by Isle of Man-based company Virtual Software.

Jack, in his first meeting since suffering a broken leg in a fall in February, produced a stunning comeback earlier this month with a win on Get Rich Die Plyin, and a third place on Cherif De L’Isle.

It was a day to remember for Virtual Live Racing for two reasons - a successful first outing for the brand on the 21-year-old rising star’s silks, and his win and third place were on horses trained by Gordon Elliott who is a Virtual Live Racing shareholder.

It was the third win since VLR announced their sponsorship of the Kennedy brothers for the 2020/2021 season - Paddy won on Rapid Response at Wexford on August 29, and on Jelona at Clonmel on September 3.

Chairman Vincent Caldwell said: ’Seeing both of them winning was a dream start to what we hope will be a great relationship between the Kennedys and VLR.

’Jack has ridden eight winners for me as an owner, and I’m looking forward to more under our sponsorship.’

VLR features fully rendered replicas of real racetracks, graphics and results based on historical race data in partnership with leading American racetrack venues.
