Debbie Wright has joined Kerruish Law as a wills and estates practitioner.

Debbie has more than 10 years of experience in private client work and provides advice on wills and enduring powers of attorney and mental health receiverships through to assisting lead advocates in the mediation of complex estate and probate disputes.

In May 2015, Debbie incorporated her own firm DMW Will & Estate Practitioner Services Ltd (DMW), which became a thriving success for delivering a professional, friendly and affordable mobile service to clients all over the island.

Rather than continue as a sole practitioner, Debbie decided her expanding client base was best served by joining Kerruish Law to thus provide an even wider range of services.

Managing director Paul Kerruish is delighted to be expanding the firm’s capabilities in this area.

He said: ’Debbie is passionate about helping clients prepare for and guide them through what can be difficult and emotional times in their lives and prides herself in delivering an exceptional and empathetic service.

’This recruitment opportunity could not have come at a better time for us, with the continued growth of the business since our successful relocation to Ramsey in November 2016.’

Debbie is also a guest speaker for the local WI and various financial institutions around the island and often gives talks on the importance of having a will and enduring power of attorney and considering other related estate planning.

As reported in Business News Kerruish Law relocated its Douglas office to Ramsey in a bid to cut down travelling time and improve work/life balance for its staff, most of whom live in the north.

The firm, which specialises in private client, property and business law matters is managed by Paul Kerruish, who actually started out his legal career in Ramsey 25 years ago with Dickinson Cruickshank as a school work experience student. The former Ramsey Grammar School ’Head Boy’, has gone on to carve out a successful career in the law

He said at the time: ’With the majority of our staff living in the north of the island, it made complete sense to relocate to Ramsey - the Isle of Man’s Northern Power House!

’The way that law firms operate these days online and over email, means that physical location is less important than it once was and the pressure to remain in the capital is no more.

’Ramsey offers attractive rents, a real sense of community and an optimistic outlook, as the town’s independent businesses go from strength to strength.

’We will still be offering the same service to our clients Island-wide and will happily travel to meet anybody who has difficulty making the trip "over the mountain.’’ ’
