Santander International has appointed James Geldart as managing director of its Isle of Man Branch.
Mr Geldart returns to the island from Jersey, where he has worked with Santander since 2016 as head of retail and private banking for both the Channel Island and the Isle of Man.
During this time, he developed the bank’s high net worth (HNW) and mass affluent proposition, restructuring the client journey to suit changing customer attitudes.
He officially took up his new role yesterday Monday.
Mr Geldart has worked in banking since 2006, notably within wealth management and the expatriate market, in the UK, Dubai and Jersey.
He grew up in the Isle of Man and went to Castle Rushen High School.
Mr Geldart said: ’I’m delighted to be able to move back home to the Isle of Man and this promotion marks an exciting time for me both personally and professionally.

A graduate with a BA Honours degree in Management, James began his career in banking as a financial planning manager with HSBC UK, working with the bank in various roles and jurisdictions.
Outside work, James is a keen cyclist and triathlete, taking part in local and international events.

John Pearson, the current managing director of the Isle of Man branch, will remain on the executive committee and take up a new role developing new markets for Santander International.
