The team behind esports betting brand Luckbox ’looked at the entire world’ before deciding on basing’ themselves in the Isle of Man.

It has been a busy couple of years for the business.

Now Luckbox has been listed on the TSX Venture Exchange in Toronto.

Real Luck Group Ltd, which is the parent company of Luckbox, has begun trading under the ticker "LUCK".

Trading on the TSX Venture Exchange follows the successful completion of the previously announced qualifying transaction with Elephant Hill Capital Inc.

The TSX Venture Exchange is a public venture capital marketplace for emerging companies. It is not the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Luckbox chief executive Quentin Martin, a Douglas resident, said: ’We’re celebrating a major milestone for Luckbox as we begin trading on the TSX Venture exchange, and we look forward to the next leg of growth for our company.

’The company was born in the Isle of Man and our Isle of Man gambling licence is one of our key strengths.

’These are hugely exciting times for the esports industry and, in particular, the esports betting sector.

’We are well positioned at the forefront of the industry to capitalise on the continued growth in this rapidly growing sector.

’We have a very talented team, with not only a passion for esports but also vast experience in the betting industry.

’With our public listing completed, we look forward to delivering on our goal of rapid growth in the coming months.’

Mr Martin, a former professional poker player who went on to be head of social poker at PokerStars, gives full marks to the island where the e-gaming sector has enjoyed tremendous success.

He said: ’It has fantastic gambling licences and the key thing is that it focuses on player protection and that was something that was very important to the founders of this business.

’Our culture is very similar to that of the Stars Group: "Do right by the player." ’

Shortly after setting up in the capital a couple of years ago Mr Martin told Business News that esports were taking off big-style.

Huge tournament events take place in stadiums around the world including America and Asia.

He said at the time: ’There is this bizarre phenomenon about esports. If you’re older than 33 and you are told about esports then the chances are that your reaction will be: "What is that?"

’If you’re under 33 then you will say that is "pretty cool."

’One of my favourite statistsics is that 18-to-25-year- olds watch more computer games than they do traditional sports on television.’
