Manx Telecom is sponsoring a series of forums - organised through a partnership between the Isle of Man and Wirral Chambers of Commerce - which allows businesses to share ideas and benefit from networking opportunities

The forums, which began in February this year, focus on a different sector of the island’s economy each month, and builds links between business sectors on the island and in the north west of England.

Chris Allen, Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce President, said: ’We are delighted that Manx Telecom is sponsoring the Isle of Man and Wirral Chamber of Commerce sector based forums.

’The forums are focused on linking Isle of Man and Wirral based businesses, offering the opportunity for collaboration between the two regions.

’Support from members such as Manx Telecom is vital in helping Chamber offer more benefits to its members, thus strengthening our voice for business across the island and further afield.’

David Smith, marketing and strategic development director at Manx Telecom and a member of Isle of Man Chamber’s ICT and eBusiness Committee, said: ’As a Chamber of Commerce member for many years, Manx Telecom fully appreciates its record as a champion for businesses in all sectors, and the Isle of Man generally.

’The sector forums series has been well received since it began in February, and we are proud to support this initiative.’

Manx Telecom’s sponsorship begins with the finance and professional services sector forum on April 17 - the forum will be held in Douglas, but the venue will be confirmed when the number of attendees is known.

The event, from 10am to 2.30pm, will feature expert contributions from the Isle of Man’s private and public sector, and from Wirral Chamber of Commerce.
