Law firm Appleby has announced the appointment of Mark Holligon as the new dispute resolution local practice head for the Isle of Man.
Currently a partner within the dispute resolution department in the Athol Street, Douglas, office, Mark specialises in onshore and offshore law with a focus on commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring.
He has a particular interest in distressed funds and their restructuring.
Mark, said: ‘It is an honour to be recognised in this way, and I am very much looking forward to getting stuck into my new role.’
Mark began his career in England, qualifying in London in 1995. He gained experience with two leading UK firms before spending five years with offshore law firm Walkers in the Cayman Islands.
He moved to the Isle of Man in 2008 joining Appleby in 2012.
He has had involvement with many large cross-border insolvencies during his time at the firm.
Mark has been named as a ‘leader in his field’ by respected publication Chambers UK for the past three years, and also as a ‘Leading Individual’ in Legal 500 UK for Dispute Resolution.

Appleby’s Isle of Man office is one of the longest established legal practices in the island, comprising 65 staff including 10 partners and 30 highly trained and experienced lawyers.
