Manx Telecom staff attended the company’s annual ‘Kick Start’ motivational event which sets out key goals for the year ahead.
The company, which employs around 300 people in the island, held the event at Woodbourne House in Douglas over two days.
Each member of staff was invited to attend one of the two days, with each day featuring interactive workshops and discussions designed and led by Pro-Noctis, one of the UK’s leading authorities on human performance, performance coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Pro-Noctis directors Phil Quirk and Phil Kelly and their colleagues led workshops which aimed to develop different aspects of team work and developing a coaching culture.
For Phil Quirk the opportunity to visit the Isle of Man was especially welcome because he grew up in Peel.
Pro-Noctis have coached Olympic champions, professional athletes, award-winning CEOs, directors, polar explorers, and fast jet pilots.
Kick Start 2018 began with an introduction by Manx Telecom chief exective officer, Gary Lamb, who gave an update about the company’s so-called transformation programme which is designed to turn the business into a more agile, creative, and customer-focused company.
He said that the main purpose of Kick Start was to begin the year with a fresh start with the focus being on the people agenda, which will give a fresh approach to achieving the company’s aims for growth.
By providing a fun and engaging environment, the Kick Start workshops encouraged staff to open their minds to new ways of thinking, demonstrate the importance of listening and learning from colleagues across the business, understand strategic goals, and the role that individuals and teams play in achieving these objectives during 2018 and beyond.
