A new awards event that recognises and celebrates Isle of Man based businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to their corporate social responsibility (CSR), is launched this month.
The Responsible Business Awards (ReBAWARDS) are the brainchild of local entrepreneur, and award-winning equality campaigner Jean-Paul Nguegang.
Nominations for the various categories can be made over the coming months culminating in an awards ceremony at the Palace Hotel, Douglas, on September 28.
A dedicated website has been launched for the ReBAWARDS, through which companies and individuals can nominate people and/or themselves for the various award categories.
Jean-Paul says nominees can come from public, private and third sector organisations and must be able to demonstrate that they have contributed to the island’s economic development, while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families, the local community and society at large.
Jean-Paul said the Responsible Business Awards will showcase organisations that have gone above and beyond their corporate social responsibilities, - not just through policies and practices, but throughout the very heart of what they do.
The awards also aim to recognise and congratulate leaders, employees and individuals who have acted as significant role models in both championing and demonstrating a commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
Jean-Paul added that a group of ‘highly influential’ figures from the business community will form the judging panel for the awards.
They include Jean-Paul, Jane Jelski, senior manager, special projects, Department of Economic Development, Jennie Thompson, vice president, International Black & White Association, Steve Burrows, chartered director and Kimberley O’Brien, advocate, Callin Wild.
