Businesswoman Danie Shallcross has launched a new virtual secretarial business called mySecretary in the island.
Danie opened the virtual doors to this new and exciting Manx company having undertaken the Isle of Man Government’s Micro Business Scheme that covered all areas required to set up a business including accountancy, marketing and tax,
She said: ’We had a baby in October 2016 and I was torn between going back to work and staying at home to raise our child.
’mySecretary is the ideal solution whereby I can offer both legal, administrative and personal secretarial services that fit in and around everybody’s schedules by doing it virtually’.
Having worked briefly at Moore Stephens Isle of Man and Corlett Bolton, Danie spent the past six years working for Simcocks Advocates across commercial, wills and probate, litigation and conveyancing departments.
She added: ’The flexibility of mySecretary looks to suit those businesses who may require ad-hoc legal administration, copy-typing and audio transcriptions services undertaken when there isn’t capacity for other secretaries.
’Although having a background in legal, mySecretary is not limited to the legal sector as it can also assist with data entry, research, organisational tasks such as travel planning as well as proof reading and writing, editing and formatting documents’.
Over the past 10 years, virtual secretaries and assistants have been on the rise with 56 per cent of UK companies now incorporating some sort of virtual staff within their organisation.
Danie reckons it is opening up a fantastic opportunity to expand teams, as and when required, without the need to take on permanent staff and pay for an office to house them!
Danie has the full backing of her husband Tim Shallcross who is business development officer at Optimus in Castletown.
