A business network dedicated to business analysts has been set up on the island, with its first event.
The Isle of Man Business Analyst Network’s (IOM BA Network) first event, sponsored by Douglas-based Utmost Wealth Solutions, saw 25 people attend for informal networking at Bar George.
The network founder, Bronia Anderson-Kelly, who has been working in business in the island for more than 15 years said: ’Creating a community of BA professionals on the island has been long overdue.
’While a number of us have got to know one another as we work on various projects, there hasn’t been a way to connect, share ideas, consolidate experience and arrange training or speakers that can add value to the types of projects that we see in the island. The network aims to address that.
’It was great to see so many BA professionals attend and shows how important these kinds of events are to growing essential business change skills in the Island."
Utmost Wealth Solutions chief executive, Mike Foy, said: ’We were pleased to be asked to sponsor the first event for a group of individuals involved in business change.
’We’re looking forward to seeing how the network develops over the next 12 months.
’Collaboration and team-working is the essence of such a professional community.
’Events like this give opportunity to share experiences, discuss trends and industry developments, and to ultimately, improve quality - something we’re keen to support in the Isle of Man.’
The network is free to join.
The next event, scheduled for September, will see a visit from the ex-president of the International Institute of Business Analysis UK Chapter.
