Staff at SMP Partners’ Isle of Man office, with more than 300 years’ experience between them, have been recognised for their long service.

Group managing director Mark Denton (30 years’ service) was one of 27 staff members presented with certificates at an event at the Bath and Bottle in Douglas to mark their achievements.

The international corporate services provider is based at Clinch’s House, Lord Street, Douglas.

As well as Mark, who joined what is now SMP Partners in 1988 and took up the post of managing director in 2007, five staff received special awards for completing 20 years each with the company.

In addition, five members of staff received gold awards for notching up 15 years of service.

And there were eight bronze and eight silver winners to mark five and 10 years’ service respectively.

Headquartered in the Isle of Man, the independent SMP Partners Group is wholly owned by its executive board of directors and employs more than 155 people in the Isle of Man, with additional offices in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Jersey, Malta, and Switzerland.

SMP Partners group chairman Steve McGowan paid tribute to their achievements.

He said: ’This recognition not only marks the long service from very valued members of staff but also ensures their dedication and expertise to the company is properly recognised.

’To have 27 length of service award winners who collectively have worked for SMP for 325 years speaks volumes and I would personally like to thank each and every one for their contribution and dedicated service to the company and its clients.’

A further 15 long service awards were presented to staff across the SMP Group offices in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong and Zurich, all ranging from five to 15 years.

It means more than 200 length of service awards have been presented since a management buyout of the company in 2007.

Mark Denton said: ’We know our solutions are only as good as the people who deliver them and are fully aware that our team of staff specialists make all the difference.

’Our company, in its various forms, dates back over 35 years and so we felt it was fitting to hold a joint celebration of our accomplishments.

’Every member of staff will listen to clients’ needs and take the time to explain complex solutions.

’As leaders in our field we really value this level of commitment and we hope our event demonstrated our level of commitment to them.’
