Business communications company Plan.com has been named one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies by the Financial Times.

The FT1000 fourth annual list placed the Douglas-based business in the top 200 out of 1,000 European companies overall and in the top 50 by revenue.

Compiled by the Financial Times and Statista, a research company, the FT1000 lists European companies that achieved the highest compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2015 and 2018.

Competition is tough at the top this year, with companies requiring a minimum growth rate of 38.4 per cent to make the list, compared with 37.7 per cent last year.

Neil Kelly, chief financial officer at Plan.com, said: ’This is the third national award that we’ve picked up in as many months and we couldn’t be more proud of our team. To be recognised among the leading businesses in Europe is a real testament to the hard work and dedication that each of them has, and continues to have, on our business.

’Despite our rapid growth over the past six years, we’ve maintained a start-up spirited, open culture that gives everyone in the business a real opportunity to make a difference and to have their say. We’re looking forward to continuing this growth into 2020 and to celebrating even more success with our people, partners and customers.’ Plan.com says it has gone from strength to strength since working with phone provider O2 in 2014.

It now employs more than 100 people with plans to expand into a new head office on Victoria Street later this year.

In addition to its FT1000 ranking, the company recently placed in the 2019 Sunday Times Tech Track 100, an accolade won in 2018 and was ranked in the top five of the Best Small Companies to Work For list, also compiled by the Sunday Times.
