Fancy a cuppa? A popular coffee franchise is up for sale.

Coffee Republic, what was Britain’s first US-style coffee bar chain, has three outlets in the island - at Victoria Street and Strand Street in Douglas and on the Square at Castletown.

The three franchise outlets are being offered for sale either as a whole or individual for as little as £175,000.

They are on the market with estate agents Cowley Groves which describes it as an ’opportunity to acquire a profitable coffee franchise’.

Cowley Groves director David Creane said interest had been ’phenomenal’.

He said: ’The owners behind the Coffee Republic franchise bars in Strand Street and Victoria Street in Douglas and Castletown have been expanding into Glasgow and Edinburgh and providing a turn-key solution for wannabe franchises.

’Taking away the hassle and responsibility of finding a suitable site, agreeing the lease and project managing the design and fit out of a bar and then establishing the trade for the first 12-18 months is the niche they are exploiting, acting as consultants to a franchise sale company.’

Coffee Republic Isle of Man co-owner Adrian Christian purchased the existing Coffee Republic franchise in the island in 2015.

Starting out with premises in Victoria Street, the franchisees opened a second coffee bar in Strand Street in 2016, followed by the third outlet in Castletown.
