Unemployment fell during the second full month of the lockdown - but was still up almost 1,000 on this time last year.
May’s jobless figure was 1,283 - down 64 on April but up 978 on the same month last year.
The unemployment rate at the end of May was 3.0%, a decrease of 0.1% from the previous month.
During the month 233 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre. At the end of the month, 176 remained. Some 76% (133) were full time positions and 24% (43) were part time.
International Labour Organisation estimates, which included those out of work but not registered unemployed, put the jobless figure at 2,478 , down from 2,647 in April 2020 - and giving an unemployment rate of 5.8%.
The inflation rate as measured by the consumer prices index fell 0.7% to 0.1% in May.
