Manx Telecom claims it has listened to the island’s business community over connectivity.

The company has launched a new range of products to meet, it says, the increasing demand for ultra-high-speed connectivity from businesses in all sectors of the island’s economy.

The company has a range of on-island Ethernet products over its new on-island Carrier Ethernet network.

Initially there will be four bandwidth options – 10Mbps, 100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps – each available on a one, three or five-year contract. Higher capacity connectivity options can also be made available on request.

MT says this new network extends high capacity connectivity across the entire island and is designed to guarantee what the company says are mission-critical enterprise services, the highest levels of network resilience, and offers the scalability required to satisfy increasing demand for guaranteed, low cost, ultra-high-speed connectivity.

Manx Telecom has also replaced its traditional multi-exchange area pricing system with a new simplified ‘Metro’ and ‘Non-Metro’ solution, with the new on-net Metro pricing extended to cover both Douglas and Castletown.

Stephen Kane, head of products at Manx Telecom, says the company has listened to the island’s business community, and responded to demand.

He said: ‘In short, we’re offering business connectivity that delivers much more for less.

‘Businesses in all sectors of the island’s economy need guaranteed high-speed connectivity to process increasing volumes of data as fast, efficiently, and securely as possible.

‘We have listened, and created this new network and new range of Carrier Ethernet products.

‘Customers using our 1Gbps product on a three-year contract will benefit with a cost reduction of up to 27 per cent, a huge saving which demonstrates our commitment to giving Isle of Man businesses great value connectivity.

‘The new products benchmark very strongly on-island and, equally importantly, are significantly lower than competing offshore jurisdictions such as the Channel Islands, keeping our island competitive.

‘Our new Carrier Ethernet network and product range is the first step in a new programme of business solutions that will demonstrate our ongoing commitment to all sectors of the island’s business community to ensure all businesses have access to technology that gives them a competitive edge.’
