The owner of a French restaurant says that it’s business as usual - despite a wall in the yard behind being deemed a danger.
A householder on Summerhill Grove, Douglas, has been given four months by Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith to carry out repairs to two dangerous walls which are at risk of collapse.
One of the walls borders the rear of L’Experience restaurant.
L’Experience proprietor Belinda Murphy said: ’We’ve had a few customers calling about this.
’But it has not caused any issues at the restaurant and we are open for business as usual.’
She said Douglas Council put up timber boarding to make the wall safe.
And she said that even when the repairs are carried out in won’t affect the restaurant as the builder could work from the yard and from the top of the wall.
Mrs Murphy said the promenade works had affected their trade but they had done a lot of promotions to encourage more diners to visit.
