Ramsey commissioners’ tenants are to be encouraged to pay their rent by direct debit instead of over-the-counter payments.

Statistics show that while the majority pay by direct debit, 35% of tenants continue to pay by cash or card.

Lead member for finance, Juan McGuinness said records showed those paying through the bank were much less likely to fall into arrears.
