The teamwork award at the 2019 Awards of Excellence has gone to the Radiology Department and Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.

It was revealed tonight (Thursday) at the Isle of Man Newspapers’ event at the Villa Marina that judges decided to appoint them as winners for being ‘a great example of teamwork that has changed lives’.

Members of the Radiology Department at Noble's Hospital and Manx Cancer Support Group went on stage to collect The Dandara Award for Teamwork.

The collaboration between the healthcare professionals in the Radiology Department and the Manx charity was deemed as ‘ground-breaking’ as it has transformed the experience for patients in the area of breast care, screening and breast cancer diagnosis.

This continuing collaboration will deliver a new, state of the art 3D Imaging Suite at Noble’s which is planned to open next year.

The strong teamwork has extended to radiology staff joining in enthusiastically with fundraising events, selling tickets and even dyeing their hair pink!

The judges said: ‘A great example of teamwork that has changed lives, bringing together healthcare professionals with a charity which has also won UK recognition in the form of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.’
