The main lifts in Chester Street car park are out of order ahead of one of the busiest nights in Douglas.
Both lifts that open next to the entrance to Chester Street vaccination hub or the former Shoprite are currently out of order.
The Christmas lights switch on and the first evening of late night shopping will happen later today.
According to the Department of Infrastructure, it is waiting for a delivery of new parts for the lifts from the UK.
It said in a statement: ‘It’s anticipated they will be back in action by Thursday, December 2.
‘In the meantime, the smaller lifts at the north end of the building are fully operational.
‘Apologies for any inconvenience.’
