The cargo ship CEG Orbit has run aground off the north coast early this morning, near the Point of Ayre.
It was travelling from Liverpool to Belfast.
The crew of five are still onboard.
It is understood that attempts will be made to float it off on this afternoon’s high tide.
The section of beach between Dog Mills and the Phurt will be shut between 1pm and 4pm this afternoon
