A fire broke out in a bedroom of a house in Laxey yesterday.

Firefighters from the village responded to a 999 call in the evening.

The property was smoke-logged when they got there and they had to use breathing apparatus as they tackled the fire.

The occupants escaped the property without injury.

The exact cause of the fire is being investigated.
