The Steam Packet has said what caused the Manannan to crash last month.

The fast craft suffered structural damage after it hit the quay when it tried to berth in Douglas harbour on August 17, leading to some disruption to services..

Mark Woodward, Steam Packet company chief executive, said: ’The incident was a result of the premature failure of a hydraulic component, which has now been replaced.’
