Exactly 100 years since the formation of the Castletown and District branch of Royal British Legion a celebratory concert was held at Castle Rushen High School.
More than 130 people attended the event on Saturday and enjoyed entertainment by Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band, Paul Costain, the Southern Belles, students from Castle Rushen High School (Lucy Norbury, Owen Williams, Emily Daniel, Ailish Williams and William King accompanied by Jill Collings on the piano).
Poems from the First World War were read out by Ali Waters, a cadet from King William’s College, and by Castle Rushen High School students Chloe Sloane and William King. A number of presentations were made to mark the occasion.
Thanks went to all involved for their support.
