A black-tie event to raise money for the island’s children’s hospice takes place on Saturday.
It will be staged at the Royal Hall Villa Marina in Douglas, just a day before the Rebecca House Children’s Hospice celebrates its 10th anniversary.
A big attraction will be the charity auction with organisers hoping for some bumper bids for such a good cause.
It will include the chance to have a portrait drawn in pastel by award-winning artist Svetlana Cameron, and jump her waiting list with the piece being completed in 2018.
Svetlana previously donated the same commission to the Gift of Life charity and it raised £12,000, so bids in the region of £10,000 are expected.
For music lovers, portraits of Elvis and Prince are also going under the hammer. The acrylic paintings by contemporary artist Iain Alexander are on display at the Genesis gallery in Douglas.
Each will have an auction reserve price of £15,000.
A David Bowie piece donated to Jersey Hospice by Iain recently fetched £30,000.
Sealed bids are now being invited now for all three pieces.
To submit a sealed bid in advance for the self-portrait commission, Elvis and/or Prince, you must go to www.hospice.org.im/auction and follow the information detailed there.
Online sealed bids will be accepted until 5pm on the day before the event (Friday, November 10) but there will also be an opportunity to bid at the event.
The ball is sponsored by SMP Partners.
