There has been a change of venue for a public meeting due to take place on Thursday night.

Braddan Commissioners are hosting a public meeting to discuss the Area Plan for the east of the island.

It was going to be at Ballacottier primary school in Farmhill.

But, as we reported earlier, the school has been closed because of an outbreak of norovirus.

It will now take place at the auditorium at Keyll Darree, Noble’s Hospital at 7pm.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK and Bill Shimmins MHK will be there, together with Diane Brown, head of planning policy and representatives from the commissioners.

A spokesman for Braddan Commissioners said: ’This is a valuable opportunity for the public to make their views known directly to their politicians and influence planning policy in Braddan while the Area Plan is in its early stages.’

The plan covers Braddan, Douglas, Onchan, Marown, Santon, Laxey and Lonan.

On March 7 the Isle of Man Examiner gave details of the Eastern Area Plan in a long report.
