Residents have the chance to name a juvenile dolphin that was born in Manx waters and its mother.
The Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch is running a competition where members of the public can suggest name choices for a £2 donation.
The names will be shortlisted by the charity and put to a public vote. Whoever suggests the chosen names will receive a A4 print of the pair.
A new website has been launched that is dedicated to documenting them.
The baby bottlenose dolphin was first filmed by Amy Warren on September 16 while she was walking around Gansey bay.
The video shows a pod of three adult bottlenose dolphins and a tiny newborn dolphin behaving erratically and leaping out of the water.
The size of the calf and the behaviour of the adults, suggests this footage was taken soon after the calf was born.
Since then, a number of people have frequently spotted the mother and its calf close to our coasts, especially between Peel and Ramsey.
Outreach and education manager, Jen Adams, said: ’The pair are fascinating from a scientific perspective as they have developed a unique "circling" hunting method using our shallow sandy coastline.
’We believe this behaviour has only ever been documented in a handful of locations around the world and we are talking with marine mammal scientists in other countries to find out. It is also extremely rare to see a lone mother and juvenile bottlenose dolphin with such residency to a site for a long period of time.’

Name entries can be made at the charity’s visitor centre at 31 Michael Street, Peel. The final chance to enter is at the charity’s stall at Peel Carnival on August 2.
