Musicians will band together in Onchan this weekend to help a fellow singer raise money for a good cause.

Eugene Wilson, a supporter and fund raiser for the Anthony Nolan Trust, will hold his ’Charity Bash’ at the Onchan Parish Hall, Royal Avenue, on Saturday, January 25, from 7.30pm.

The night will feature a line up of local singers and groups, including Ian Thompson, Gareth Hardinge, Keiran Ball and a headline set by the Christ Winchester band, alongside a performance from Eugene himself.

’That’s the time when everyone can run off and get a bite to eat and have a sit down,’ laughed Eugene.

’Everyone else is quality, and I’m the light relief in the middle.

’Seriously, though, all these guys who are appearing with me at the weekend, are amazing. They are all giving their time up for nothing, purely because they want to help out the charity.

’Ian Thompson is actually playing his set, and then running off to another one later on in the night in Douglas. I’m so grateful for that sort of effort from people.

’I held my first concert there last year, and it was amazing. It was like a proper gig, with about 100 or so people up and dancing, and I hope it’ll be more of the same this weekend.’

Tickets for the Charity bash are £6 each, and are available by contacting Eugene on 222261. The venue is bring-your-own drinks and food, and there will be a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Anthony Nolan Trust.
