Peel Charity Shop has held another of its popular donation events, having donated more than £1 million to good causes in the island over the last 15 years.
Charities were invited along to Corrin Hall to collect a cheque and give a quick overview of their work and how the donation would help their cause.
Charities which received donations included: ME Support, Douglas Choral Union, Bowel Cancer, Paws for Therapy, Cruse Bereavement Care and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Other recipients included RNLI Peel, Beach Buddies, Manx Diabetic Group, Samaritans Isle of Man, Skils, Huntingtons Disease Support Group, Project 21, the Foodbank, Friends of the Centenary Centre and Housing Matters.
Also supported this time were The Tommy Clucas Sports Hall, Friends of Robert Owen House, Mannin Sepsis, Western Athletics, Swimsafe and Manx Deaf Society.
Lorraine Webster from the Peel Charity Shop said they receive amazing support from volunteers and the public who buy from them or those who donate their unwanted items. ’Since opening the shop on the Promenade in Peel over 15 years ago, over £1 million has been donated to charities around the island,’ she said.
