The Chief Constable will be holding his annual awards ceremony on Wednesday next week at 1.15 pm in the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas.
The ceremony honours police officers, special constables, support staff, community volunteers and members of the public with a variety of awards ranging from long service medals, certificates of merit for dedication and professionalism, commendations for saving lives and trophies for community partnerships, special achievements and outstanding performance.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts said: ’This year more than ever before, because of events across the water, we have seen how police officers and ordinary members of the public can find themselves in hugely challenging and difficult situations.
’When they do, they act swiftly and bravely. This year’s awards ceremony properly recognises the courage of police officers and ordinary people, but it also recognises excellence in policing and public service and dedication to duty.
#I am proud to be able to give proper recognition to so many deserving people.’
The Lieutenant Governor, Sir Richard Gozney and his wife Lady Diana Gozney will attend the ceremony.
