Hundreds of people, both big and small, ventured out to watch the first shows by a new children’s theatre company.
’Hello Little People’, formed by professional actors Michelle James and Chloe Shimmin, performed ’A Beg Adventure’ at Castle Rushen over the weekend.
The shows were performed by the two stars and took the form of a comical journey which featured many figures from Manx mythology in situations that you may have never seen them before.
They performed five shows, with each one being sold out and they are making plans for more shows in the future.
’We are absolutely thrilled with the response from A Beg Adventure,’ said Chloe.
’We’ve had so many audience members, from over the weekend reaching out to us to tell us how much their children enjoyed it.
’We’ve been sent lots of wonderful images of children with huge smiles on their faces, and their Hello Little People flags and stickers.
’They have said that their children couldn’t stop talking about the show and the characters after they left, and wanted to see the show again immediately.
’What has touched us most has been hearing about children inspired by our show to create their own songs, stories and characters. We’ve even had a rap made about Manannan. We sold out of all five shows, more than 250 people came to see us and lots left with the song "Hello Little People" in their heads.’
