A talk on choosing love rather than fear as the main motivator in life will be given this Saturday, August 3, at 4pm at the Hub, Thie Rosien, Port Erin.

The speaker Samantha Fraser said: ’It’s important to look at what is really driving us. If you think life is a struggle you will always be struggling.

’Through awareness and practice, I can consciously choose a new response, one in which I am coming from understanding and love.

’Then the outcome is always much more positive and beneficial.’

Born in London, Samantha trained as a teacher and after a few years teaching in urban schools, she took a job in Africa. This was a challenging time at first, adapting to a new culture and learning a new language.

She said: ’This is when I realised how driven I was by my own cultural beliefs and how much I depended on them for a sense of security. It was a great experience and eventually I was able to let go of control, go with the flow of life and harmonise with the people I was working with.’

Samantha is based at the international headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris and still works part time as a teacher.

The talk finishes at 5.15pm and attendees are welcome to stay on for a guided meditation session from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
