Douglas is set to host one of the UK’s brightest comedians during 2021.

Top stand-up and television personality Chris Ramsey is heading to the Isle of Man next year and will appear at the Villa Marina on Saturday, February 20.

All being well, Chris is planning on embarking on his biggest stand-up tour of the UK throughout much of next year, after being forced to reschedule his comedy dates this year.

Among the dates he was forced to cancel was a highly-anticipated appearance at the TT VIP tent during this year’s TT Fortnight, which was one of the first casualties of the restrictions regarding the coronavirus.

Once described as ’frighteningly talented’, Chris is one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the UK today, although he is perhaps better known for his TV work, where he is a regular face and presenter on many panel shows and comedy programmes.

He first appeared on the screen in the lead role of the BBC2 comedy Hepburn, before going onto appear as a regular member on ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and hosting his own shows, the Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central as well as Chris Ramsey’s Stand Up Central and the panel show Virtually Famous on E4.

Having danced his way to the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, he and his wife Rosie spent the lockdown producing the phenomenally-successful podcast ’Shagged. Married. Annoyed’, which has been downloaded more than 43 million times and won a host of awards for best podcast.

Tickets for the Chris Ramsey show are £22.50, available from the Welcome Centre and the Villa Gaiety Box Office , on 600555 and online from villagaiety.com.

The Villa are due to make an announcement on two shows, featuring the comedian Milton Jones and the Bootleg Beatles which were due to take place during October this year.

A spokespersons for the Villa Marina said: ’Due to the continued uncertainty with regards to Covid-19 and the Isle of Man borders we are actively liaising with the organisers and looking to move the show into 2021.

’Once a new date is confirmed we will, of course, let customers attending know via email and social media.’
