An assistant psychologist has launched an appeal encouraging members of the public to send Christmas cards to inpatients at Manannan Court, Douglas.
Alyssa Isaac is asking people to send cards to her direct, so she can help spread Christmas cheer to those currently receiving mental health care at the acute services unit in Noble’s Hospital Estate.
She previously ran the appeal over the last two years, during which she received more than 600 cards from well-wishers around the island, as well as the world.
Alyssa said: ’We received cards from individuals, schools, nurseries, the police and even the Chief Minister. Cards arrived from all across the island, the UK, and even as far away as America and Australia.’
’I’m hoping we can continue this annual tradition and so I’m putting our request out there again.’
Cards can be sent directly to: C/O Alyssa Isaac, Manannan Court, Noble’s Hospital, Braddan, IM4 1RJ. They can also be dropped off into reception.
